Infection control policy

At our Practice, we are dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients, visitors, and employees. We take pride in our modern, purpose-built facilities and are committed to maintaining them to the highest standards.

If you have any concerns regarding cleanliness or infection control, please notify our Reception team so that we can promptly address any issues.

To safeguard patient care and promote a hygienic environment, our GPs and nursing staff adhere to a rigorous Infection Control Policy, ensuring that the care provided and equipment used meet strict safety standards. We uphold the following practices to maintain and continuously improve our infection control measures:

  • Incident Reporting: We encourage staff and patients to report any issues or incidents related to cleanliness and infection control. This helps us to promptly address concerns and implement improvements to prevent future issues.
  • Annual Infection Control Audit: We conduct a yearly infection control audit to assess the effectiveness of our protocols and make necessary adjustments.
  • Staff Training and Updates: All staff receive annual training and updates on best practices in cleanliness and infection control to stay aligned with the latest standards.
  • Policy and Procedure Review: Our infection control policies and procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure compliance with national guidelines and adapt to emerging best practices.
  • Facility and Equipment Maintenance: We prioritise the upkeep of our facilities and equipment within our financial means, taking all feasible measures to minimise infection risks.
  • Use of Disposable or Washable Materials: To limit cross-contamination, we utilise washable or disposable materials, such as couch rolls, modesty curtains, floor coverings, and towels, which are cleaned or replaced frequently.
  • Accessibility to Hand Sanitiser: Alcohol-based hand rub is available throughout the building to support effective hand hygiene practices for both employees and visitors.

Our Practice is committed to sustaining these standards to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
